my family and i are seasonal passholders. i just recently recieved an email about adding the dining plan to our pases for $60 and $25 for my husband. Does this work the same as if you were purchasing the dining plan with resort reservations?

    Hi Janet,

I believe you are talking about the Disney Dining Experience Card.  As an annual passholder, you can currently buy it for $60.  The card works very differently from the DIsney Dining Plan.  The Experience Card will save you 20% off most table service restaurants in WDW.  This year, they automatically include a 18% gratuity to your bill when you use the card.  A party of up to 10 can benefit from one person in the party having the card.

I also have an annual pass.  My husband and I decided to only get one card because we are always dining together.  My third day of having the card I learned that the Yak and Yeti, in Animal Kingdom, is one of the few restaurants that doesn't take it.

A full description of the card is on the annual passholder site.  I am not able to supply a link directly to it because you need to first enter a valid passholder card number to enter.  Just look under special offers and benefits.

I am currently in the middle of my first family vacation without the dining plan.  I've found so far that I am saving money by using the experience card instead.  It really depend on your family's eating habits.  We rarely get dessert and don't eat at that many counter service restaurants.
