Hello, my Family and Me plans to stay at WDW Resort in 2 weeks. In July 23th, we have a reservation at Chef's Mickey at 9:10 pm, is there a possibility to see the fire works Happily Ever After, from Chef's Mickey restaurant?? Thank you!

    Hi Cristina!

Thanks for your question. Summertime at Walt Disney World sounds awesome! I'm sure you and your family will have the time of your lives! On the last day of every trip I've taken to Disney World, at the end I always wish I've added an extra day or two. That's just how magical the experience is for me and my entire family. We never want to leave! :-)

To your question: We've stayed at the Contemporary Resort multiple times, and have eaten many meals at Chef Mickey's. Unfortunately, there's no good angle from Chef Mickey's to see the fireworks show at Magic Kingdom. If you're facing the resort, Chef Mickey's would be on the 4th floor of the resort if I'm not mistaken, towards the back far-right. There are no windows and no good vantage point to see the Magic Kingdom while inside. However, as a consideration, you could take the elevator down to the ground level and walk outside the resort. There, you would see the fireworks clearly. Or, if you can time it just right, you can catch the monorail and watch the fireworks show as it passes Magic Kingdom. We've done that before until it hit full circle back to the Contemporary, and then we got back off.

As another alternative, there is the California Grill, also at the Contemporary Resort. If you're lucky, you can make reservations near the time of the fireworks, ask for a window seat, and enjoy the fireworks show right from your restaurant seat. It's a very picturesque view, however, it's a Signature Dining experience, which is much more expensive than Chef Mickey's. We generally choose the former (Chef Mickey's) and just walk outside (or get a balcony view if staying at the resort).

If you really don't want to miss the fireworks, perhaps see if you can reserve an earlier seating at Chef Mickey's, then take the elevator to the ground floor afterwards and enjoy the fireworks outside right before the show begins!

May you and your family have a magical time in 2 very short weeks!
