Hi, my family are planning to be in WDW for new years this year, do you guys know, if the park reaches capacity on new years eve and you have a dinner reservation will you still be let into the park or do you have to enter before it reaches capacity?

    Hello, Rachel!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Spending New Year's Eve at the Walt Disney World Resort is one of my dream vacations, so I'm super happy to help you experience this moment to the fullest! I'll live through your experience while answering your question!

Theme Parks have reached capacity in the past, and it has happened on New Year's Eve as well as on other busy days. But it's wise to note that it doesn't close for all visitors when it's almost at capacity, and Guests with dining reservations are usually allowed to enter as long as the Theme Parks are not at their total capacity limit. If a Theme Park reaches its full capacity, though, Guests will not be allowed in for security reasons.

My best advice on unique dates like Christmas or New Year's Eve is to arrive early and stay until your meal. If you have a dinner reservation, I'd also suggest booking a Table Service meal for lunch so that you can rest for a bit. Since New Year's Eve is usually a very long day, a quiet moment is going to be strategic!

You can also choose to book dinner at a Disney Resort hotel. It's a strategic move if you want to have a more relaxed day. 'Ohana, at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, Narcoossee's, at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and California Grill, at Disney's Contemporary Resort are fantastic choices with fireworks views!

Whether at a Theme Park or a Disney Resort hotel, you and your family will have a wonderful time at the Walt Disney World Resort this December!

If you have more questions about dining reservations, FastPass+ or Disney Resort hotels, please, don't hesitate to come back. We will be here to help!

May the magic be with you,

    Julie
