My family are planning to visit next summer 2011. What month is the best time to go without worrying about the humidity? We would like to camp at the Disney camp ground. How soon can i reserve my site? Is there transportation from camp to theme park?

    Cherry:

As a fan of Fort Wilderness myself, I get excited when others are considering it because I know the experience is unlike any other campground you've visited!

But let's deal with the humidity first. It's Florida....it's hard to escape. Honestly, you'll have to go between October and April to encounter lesser humidity...so if you're looking at summer, the earlier you come, the better. But if you're flexible with your dates, our family personally loves camping there in November and March for good weather.

The policy at Fort Wilderness is the same at the resorts: you can make reservations up to 499 days in advance, so if you're looking at summer of 2011, you can make them at any time. You'll find ferry transportation to Magic Kingdom and bus transportation to all of the other theme parks, including the water parks and Downtown Disney.

If you have any more questions about Fort Wilderness, feel free to come and ask me a question via my bio page. We go several times a year!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
