My family and I are planning a vacation from July 3rd till the 10th. . We have 2 children, ages 5 and 2. We are trying to figure out where and what to do each day, as well as if we should do waterpark It is our 1st time visiting.

Hi, Colleen! Congrats on planning your first trip! You've come to the right place and effectively validated your awesomeness as a mother. Consider this your virtual merit badge.

Being your first trip, you'll have plenty to do at the four theme parks. If you feel the need for water activities, I'd suggest making the most out of your resort's pool(s). Not only will it save you money but it will also give you more relaxing down time. The parks can get very crowded midday, so heading back to your resort for a nap and a dip in the pool is a nice break.

With the parks being crowded in July, you'll want to be strategic about which park to visit which day, and, after you pick which park, how to see the attractions most efficiently. All this smacks of TouringPlans.com. Hop on over to that website and look at the Crowd Calendar and the touring plans for the best suggestions for your entire week.

The parks tend to be packed on July 4, especially Magic Kingdom. For that reason, I'd recommend (and TouringPlans.com recommends) visiting Magic Kingdom your first day there on July 3. Plus, on July 3, you'll be able to see the "Celebrate America" July 4 fireworks a day early. On July 4, you can take in Hollywood Studios and their special July 4 fireworks.
