My family and I are planning a trip to Disney world his fall. My father has severe back pain and has had surgery on his back. He cannot stand in long lines. Neither can I for the same reason. What proof is needed to get the disability card? Thank you!

    Hello Nicole!

Thanks so much for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I hope you are having a magical week!

Walt Disney World has created the Disability Access Service Card for Guests who may need special accommodations, they have created a fabulous resource with their Guests with Disabilities page on the website as well.

I would suggest heading in to Guest Relations upon arrival at any one of the parks and talk to a Cast Member who can best decide what would help your specific situation. I’ve found the Cast Members to be a wealth of information, offering up services or suggestions I wouldn’t have thought of for our son’s needs. While no documents are needed to “prove” a disability, the Cast Members may ask a series of questions to help determine what you need before issuing the Disability Access Service Card.

I hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions as you plan your visit!

    See you real soon!
