    Katie Asked

My family is planning a trip to Disney possibly in early summer. We will have approximately 4 adults + 1 Junior (10 yr old) is the Dining Plan worth it? We are extremely half and half about this. My sister and I are saying "Get it".

"Worth it" questions are always so hard to answer, Katie.  What one family views as a value, another might not find useful at all.  Here's what I can tell you about the dining plan: if you paid out-of-pocket for the same items that you are entitled to receive on the dining plan, you would see a savings by opting for the dining plan.  If, however, yours is not the type of family to purchase a snack each day, or a dessert at each meal, you might be better off paying out of pocket.  Some families enjoy the hassle-free aspects of the dining plan.  That is, all of the meals are prepaid and there is no worry about budgeting for food (beyond gratuities).  Other families prefer the flexibility to dine without having to worry about using up all of those credits.  It really is a matter of personal preference, Katie.  But hopefully I've given you some things to consider in making your decision.  Good luck!
