My family and I are planning our first Holiday vacation (our third trip overall) for next December. We stayed at the Beach Club in September and the Animal Kingdom last May and was wondering what resort you recommend for the for the holidays..

    Hi Barbara!

The 3 resorts that I love to stay at or even visit during Christmas are Wilderness Lodge, the Contemporary, or the Grand Floridian. All 3 of these do a masterful job of capturing the Christmas spirit, and make you feel like you're home away from home.

    Wilderness Lodge
The Wilderness Lodge off structure and architecture alone feels Christmas-centric. With its massive log structures and luxury cabin feel, I could almost envision Santa himself hanging there for a little R&R. They decorate the entire resort with ornaments, massive wreaths, etc. Then top it off with those 20-25ft Christmas trees right smack in the middle of the main building. For those staying in the main building, the insides are enclosed, allowing you to come out of your room and look over the balcony at the tree and other activities. Christmas music is constantly playing as well.

    Contemporary
If you choose the Contemporary, you absolutely HAVE to get the Magic Kingdom view. Since the Contemporary is literally across the street from Magic Kingdom, you get a bird's eye view of Cinderella's castle, as well as watching Wishes from the comfort of your room. The rest of the resort is appropriately decorated and of course houses the ever popular Chef Mickey's and California Grill. This resort easily offers the best Magic Kingdom views of the others.

    Grand Floridian
If you can fit in your budget, the Grand Floridian is the perfect backdrop resort for Christmas. Its Victorian style theme makes for perfect holiday pictures. This also offers ample Magic Kingdom views, although not as good as the Contemporary. You also have the incredible Gingerbread House, visits from Santa, Mickey and Minnie, etc. Its pricey, but well worth it if you can afford.

Any one of these 3 are perfect places to stay for Christmas. Have a terrific time!
