    Erica Asked

my family and I are planning our Disneyland vacation the first week of April for my daughters 5th birthday, do you guys do anything special for children celebrating birthdays in Disneyland?

    Hi, Erica!

I'm so glad you plan to celebrate your little princess’s 5th birthday at the Disneyland Resort. There's no better place to spend a special occasion than The Happiest Place on Earth! Be sure to pick up a complimentary birthday button for your daughter as you check in to your Disneyland Resort Hotel or at City Hall in Disneyland Park. It can be customized with her name so she’ll receive personalized birthday wishes from Cast Members all day!

I suggest beginning your morning with the Minnie & Friends Breakfast at Plaza Inn in Disneyland Park, where your daughter can enjoy a meal with visits from some favorite characters. Try bringing along a birthday card for the characters to sign instead of an autograph book—it’s a special way to remember her magical birthday visit. Don’t forget to mention you’re celebrating her birthday when you make a reservation at any table-service restaurant, because you may get sprinkled with a little extra pixie dust during your meal!

You can also order one of Disneyland Resort’s personal-size party cakes to end her meal on a sweet note. There are two themes to choose from—a Disney Princess Jewelry Box or Disney Pirate Treasure Chest—and each one comes filled with a small cake, along with a lit candle and special surprise. The individual-size cakes are $15 each (plus tax) and can be ordered in advance by calling (714) 781-DINE (3463) or in person during your meal.

I hope this helps, Emily! Please feel free to ask me any other questions you may have as your pixie-dusted planning continues.

    Wishing you magic,
