My family is planning a Disney trip 12JUNE2010-19JUNE2010. I saw that Toontown is closing .I was just wondering if it will still be open when I am there. I know my sons 2 and 4 are looking forward to it.

    Hi Amanda,

Magic Kingdom has just officially begun a refurbishment process that is expected to last 2 to 3 years. This refurbishment will eventually restructure all of Toontown into a Fantasyland expansion. One of the most popular Magic Kingdom attractions, Dumbo, will have a second ride added and a number of the beloved Disney princess will also be given new homes in their own Caste "lands". The plans for this expansion look amazing and will add some exciting new shops, restaurants and guest areas to the Magic Kingdom.

Unfortunately with this expansion, Toontown will eventually be removed. While there have been discussion of Mickey and Minnie moving to a new home on Main Street, it is unclear right now what will really stay, be moved or will be removed. There has been no scheduled published at this time showing exactly when Toontown will be closed for good.

I can tell you I was just there at the beginning of March and they were just beginning the expansion project. At the time I was there, all of Toontown was still open. I would say you have a good chance of being able to enjoy at least some of Toontown during your visit. The best place to check as your date gets closer is the refurbishment section on Magic Kingdom's park calendar at www.disneyworld.com , or also at www.allears.net

Wish I could be more exact at this time but unfortunately we just dont have an exact work schedule to go by. Good luck!
