Family of 4, w/6 y.o. & 4 y.o. 4 y.o. will not be tall enough to ride FoP. When using FP+ w/Rider Switch does the entire party need a FP+ or just 1 adult & the 6 y.o. I saw online, some rides no, but for FoP entire party needs a FP+

    Hi, there!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Richard. I'm so glad you stopped by!

Disney's Rider Switch is such an awesome service for families traveling with little ones who are just too little for some of Disney's most popular attractions. My family just returned from a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort and we utilized Rider Switch several times because my youngest isn't quite ready to experience our favorite thrill attractions. In my experience, only the Guests who are in "Party 1" (the first group to ride) need a FastPass+ to bypass the Standby line, as the Guests in "Party 2" are permitted to enter the FastPass+ line with their Rider Switch entitlement. In your specific case, one adult in your group and the 6-year old would need a FastPass+ to enter the FastPass+ line at Avatar Flight of Passage. Once you exited the attraction, the adult waiting with the 4-year old would be able to enter the FastPass+ line with the Rider Switch entitlement. However, the Rider Switch system is subject to change at any time, so if Avatar Flight of Passage is an absolute must-do for your family (and it should be; it's incredible!), I recommend making a FastPass+ selection for all members of your party who meet the height requirement. You can still take turns experiencing the thrill of flying on the back of a mountain banshee, but with the absolute assurance that everyone in your group will be able to take advantage of little to no wait with FastPass+.

I hope this was helpful. Please visit us again soon with any new questions you may have!
