My family all nine of us are coming to Disney World, the ages of the 5 children are 11 to an infant. I heard something about a fast pass that after one group goes on the others that stayed with the babies use the fast pass how does this work.

    Hi Norma Jean,

Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We on the panel love helping guests to plan magical vacations. I believe that you are speaking of Disney's Rider Switch Service, which allows for parties with guests who either do not meet the height requirement for an attraction or who simply prefer not to ride not to have to wait through a full queue twice. Let me explain how this works.

First, let a cast member at the attraction know that you want to use Rider Switch, and you will be given a Rider Switch Pass. At least one adult can then go experience the attraction with others in your party who wish to experience the attraction. At least one other adult waits outside of the attraction with the guests who cannot or do not wish to ride, and this group holds onto the Rider Switch pass. When the first group has gotten through the attraction, they come to find the group of non-riders. The adult who was with the non-riders can now go give a cast member at the attraction the Rider Switch Pass, and will be able to experience the attraction without waiting through the whole queue. The adult who experienced the attraction first now waits with the non-riders.

Here is an interesting twist for you: the adult who rides second may bring one other guest onto the attraction. It sounds like you will have many children with you, so you might want to start to think now about how to handle which child gets to ride twice! There is a great Disney Parks Blog post about height requirements for attractions. You can check this out to see which attractions your littlest ones may not be able to experience.

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Norma Jean! Do let us know if you have any further questions.
