Family enjoying activities on board

Would my family need to get passports if we are sailing out of San Diego California to Cabo San Lucas and returning to San Diego California?

    Hi Courtney!

We are thrilled to have you onboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a great question. Oh wow-your plans sound amazing. I would LOVE to sail on the Disney Wonder out of San Diego. Maybe I should ask you for pointers when you get back!

At the present time, U.S. citizens sailing on Disney Cruise Line itineraries leaving from a U.S. port and returning to the same U.S. port do not need to have a valid passport to sail. This includes your Baja round trip cruise that begins and ends in San Diego. You are doing what is called a closed loop cruise, and none of your scheduled ports are to destinations that would require a passport. However, since these rules are subject to change at any time, my best suggestion is to check the Passport and Travel Documentation page on the Disney Cruise Line website for the most up-to-date information.

For your sailing, all Guests 16 and older will need to present an original or copy of their state-issued birth certificate AND government-issued photo ID. Children 15 years of age or younger can board with an original or copy of their state-issued birth certificate. They do not need to present a government-issued photo ID.

While you are in planning mode, download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app which will be indispensable on your cruise in showing you all the entertainment and activities onboard--like "Frozen, A Musical Spectacular" which is out of this world and Character Greetings for photo opportunities with Captain Mickey and his pals.

Cruise back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you have any other questions. We'd love to help sprinkle pixie dust on your sailing.

    SEA ya real soon!
