Hi! My family and I , (Myself and my 3 chiildren) will be traveling to Disney In August 2008. I'm trying to come up with the most affordable option however there are so many options between hotels, condos, meal plans etc. I'm overwhelmed. Any suggestions?

I can definitely appreciation your situation.   There are many choice.  The good news is that there is a wide range of options, many suited to make vacationing more affordable.

I would suggest starting here.   This takes you to the Disney site where it walks you through key decisions for you to consider.   From there, a Disney vacation planner can also help.   Here are some of my personal thoughts...  If affordability is key, consider one of the value resorts.  I had tried a few, the All Star Movies being one of my favorite themed-hotels.   By staying on site, you have complimentary transportation, even to / from airport if needed.   Also, you can take advantage of extended hours by staying at a Disney resort.   Meal plans I find are a personal choice, I have tried them and they can definitely save money if you use them to their full potential.   Sometimes when I visit and am focused solely on enjoying all the rides, I don't have the time to use the meals.  Other times, when I am looking to experience different types of foods, enjoy character meals, or just have more time, the meals can save you money and are well worth it.    So for this one, I suggest read up a bit and see what fits best for you.
