Hi there! My family (mom, dad, 2 sons 11 and 5)is travelling to WDW the second week in May 2015 and staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort. This is our first time to WDW and we would like to know what are the 'must do' things - rides, dining, shows, etc. Thx

Hello Kari, welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I bet your sons are so excited for their first ever Walt Disney World vacation! Be sure to pick up complimentary First Visit buttons from Guest Relations or from the front desk of your resort.

Here are some of our family's 'must-do's separated by each park:

    Magic Kingdom-
*Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, The Haunted Mansion, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Peter Pan's Flight, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Mad Tea Party and it's a small world.
*Be Our Guest, Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort, Columbia Harbour House, The Crystal Palace.
*Dream Along With Mickey, Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade, Celebrate the Magic, Wishes nighttime spectacular.

    Animal Kingdom-
*Kilimanjaro Safaris, Kali River Rapids, DINOSAUR.
    *Tusker House, Restaurantosaurus, Rainforest Cafe.
*Festival of the Lion King, Finding Nemo -The Musical, it's Tough to be a Bug.

    Hollywood Studios-
*Toy Story Midway Mania, Star Tours - The Adventures Continue, The Great Movie Ride, Muppet*Vision 3D.
*Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre Restaurant, 50'sPrime Time Cafe, Pizza Planet Arcade.

*Soarin', Test Track Presented by Chevrolet, The Seas with Nemo & Friends.
    *illumiNations: Reflections of Earth.
*Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria, Teppan Edo, San Angel Inn Restaurante.

There are so many other fun things see and do and so little space to talk about them all. Many of the parks have amazing street performers that I recommend taking the time to enjoy. I also recommend all of the thrill rides, however, I am unsure whether or not your 5-year-old will enjoy them. You can always use the rider switch option so that you can take your older son on the thrill rides.

If you have any more questions please feel free to stop by. Have a magical first Walt Disney World vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Sarah, Indiana

I am a recent graduate from Ball State University and mother to my 5-year-old son. We love all things Disney and when we aren’t watching Disney films or planning our next vacation, we love to go to touring Disney shows. I also love to cook, listen to music, read books, and paint. With my experience planning vacations and navigating the parks from a single parent’s perspective, I hope to be able to add a little “pixie dust” to your vacation! Learn More About Sarah
