    Bill from NY Asked

My family and I want to know what is the best deal, the 20% off the Alice In Wonderland meal plan, or the regular meal plan?

    Hi Bill,

I believe your asking for a comparison between the Disney Dining Plan and the Tables in Wonderland card.

First, there are differences between who is eligible for each plan. The DDP is only available for guests staying at a Disney resort hotel. The Tables in Wonderland card is only available to Florida residents and WDW annual pass holders. Depending on your situation, one or the other might be taken out of the picture automatically.

The DDP allows you a fixed number of meals per trip, it only applies to people in your immediate party. The TiW 20% applies to most TABLE SERVICE restaurants at WDW, Is usable for up to 10 people in your group, regardless of whether they are staying with you, and applies to alcohol as well as food. There is a purchase fee for the TiW card. Also, the TiW card is active for an entire year, not just the length of your visit.

Truly the best thing for you to do is to got to a website like allears.net that gives the menus and prices for all the restaurants and plot out what you might eat each day, then do some serious number crunching. The decision will be personal based on your own eating habits. As you decide, here are some things to think about:

    - If you eat primarily quick service meals, then the quick service version of the DDP may make the most sense.
    - If you like to have a drink with your meal, then TiW will provide savings there.
    - Light eaters or vegetarians are likely to reap the least benefit from the DDP, thus the TiW card may make more sense.
    - If you like to eat non-traditionally, for example sharing meals, or eating appetizers for your main course, then the TiW card would make more sense.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if we can provide more help.
