Hi! Our family of 5, with 3 kids ages 14,10, and 7 are visiting WDW from June 29-July 5. This is our first summer trip but we have been before in March and April. I would love some expert advice on how to plan during the crowded summer season. Thanks!

    Hi Nicole ~

I love spending my summers at Disney World! Summer brings crowds and heat but you can still have a fabulous trip with a little planning. Here are some tips that may help you before and during your trip:
    • Use the Disney Parks Moms Panel - we'll be here to help you with all of your planning questions.
    • Stay at a Disney Resort Hotel and make your hotel reservations as soon as possible to ensure you get what you want. This will also give you access to Extra Magic Hours that are only available to Guests staying at a WDW Resort.
    • If you purchase your tickets in advance, you can take advantage of Disney's complimentary FastPass+ (FP+) service and make your FP+ selections before your trip. Disney Resort Guests can make them 60 days in advance.
    • Make Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs). These can be made be made up to 180 days prior to your trip. You can make reservations through the link above or by calling 407-WDW-DINE.
    • Select your 3 "must dos" in the parks you're visiting and do those first.
    • Unless you have ADRs, plan to eat lunch and dinner earlier than usual. This will help you avoid some of the crowds.
    • Bring your own water and snacks to avoid waiting in line for them.
    • Remember to relax. Disney takes care of every detail in the parks so take the time to pay attention to them.

There are ways to beat (or cope with) the heat. Here are some suggestions on staying cool at Disney World that you may find helpful.

Please feel free to visit us with all of your questions. We are hEAR for you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
