We are a family of 4, with 2 kids aged 12 & 9 from the UK staying at Saratoga Spa for 2 weeks. We have the Disney Dining Plan of 1 Quick Service and 1 Table meal. Can we and if so how much would it be to upgrade our 9yr old to the adult dining plan?

    Hi Paul,

I would advise you against upgrading your youngest child's Disney Dining Plan.  While children pay roughly $19 per day for the plan that includes one table service, one quick service, and one snack credit each day, an adult would likely pay about $55 for those same entitlements. (Think of the money you will save over the course of two weeks if your child pays the kid's fee rather than the adult's!)  Keep in mind that if your family dines at a buffet, you would all have access to the exact same food but your youngest child will be charged a significantly reduced price.  At non-buffet restaurants I suggest you simply pay out of pocket for an appetizer to supplement your nine-year-old's meal.  This is a more cost effective solution than upgrading his or her Disney Dining Plan.

If, however, you still wish to upgrade your child's plan to the adult version, you will need to give the Cast Members or travel agent through whom you booked your vacation a revised birthdate for your nine-year-old.  They can only order an adult Disney Dining Plan for guests over the age of ten.

Whichever option you decide, have an amazing vacation at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort!

    Best wishes,
    Jill
