Family of 4 (kids- age 4 & 8) traveling to WDW in Nov. We can't decide between Port Orleans Riverside and Art of Animation??? We like space, but also want convenience of good places to eat. We stayed at Wilderness Cabins last time. Help?

    Hi Marisa,

With the opening of the Art of Animation resort  in May, the Landscapes of Flavor food court will offer different stations (soup/salad/sandwich, pizza/make your own pasta, Indian/African flavors, burger, and a grab 'n go area. As a value resort, Art of Animation is not expected to have a table service restaurant.

Port Orleans Riverside has a nice food court, Riverside Mill, offering stations of some similar fare. The difference is that Port Orleans Riverside also offers a table service restaurant, Boatwright's Dining Hall. Plus, it's a relaxing boat ride over to Downtown Disney where you can dine at Earl of Sandwich, Raglan Road, Rainforest Cafe, and more! I also like that a short walk or boat ride to Port Orleans French Quarter gives you another food court, Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, with some different options. Beignets!

If space is your main concern, opt for a family suite at Art of Animation! The rooms at Port Orleans Riverside are much smaller than the Ft. Wilderness cabins. Let's compare:
Family Suite, Art of Animation 520 sq. ft.
    Wilderness Cabin 500 sq. ft.
Port Orleans Riverside 314 sq. ft.

Each time we plan a trip to Walt Disney World, I struggle with the choice of resorts. Figure out the resort amenity that is most important to you when narrowing down your options! The fun in planning a WDW vacation is all the wonderful choices!
