    Robin Asked

We have a family of 5, including 3 teenagers. We really want 2 full bathrooms, and would love to have a villa, suite, rather than 2 separate rooms. Are there any resorts that offer this? If not, do any have adjoining rooms? Thanks so much.

    Hi Robin,

Having two bathrooms is key when you are traveling with teenagers, or even with just your spouse!

The new Art of Animation resort's family suites each have two full bathrooms, one off the master bedroom with a huge walk-in shower and a smaller bathroom off the main living area. The sink and dressing area of that bathroom are separate from the shower and toilet, which also makes sharing easier.

The family suites have a fold-out couch with a real mattress and a full bed that folds down from the wall, in addition to the queen bed in the master bedroom. There's also a kitchenette.

My husband and I stayed there recently and enjoyed the extra space, even though our daughters weren't with us.

These are the newest suites on Disney property, and among the most economical. The All Star Music value resort also has family suites with two bathrooms.

Other options for a party of  your size
    • The cabins at Fort Wilderness (though I believe they have a single bathroom).
    • Suites at each of the deluxe resorts (Animal Kingdom Lodge, Boardwalk, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Polynesian, Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge and Grand Floridian)
    • Villas that sleep 8 or more at Saratoga Springs, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness Lodge, Boardwalk, Beach Club, Old Key West, and the Contemporary.

You can find more details about rooms for 5 or more guests here.

If you decide you would rather have two rooms, any of the resorts should be able to offer you adjacent rooms with connecting doors. Just be sure you note that when you make your reservation. Having connecting rooms has worked well for us when our two daughters had friends along.

I hope that helps. Enjoy your time with your family!
