My family, including my parents (6 ppl total) are planning a visit in December 2015. Is there a place to see the actual floorplans of the suites available? We are trying to decide on 2 rooms or a suite? Any suggestions on resorts for a large group? THX

    Hi Melinda,

Visiting Walt Disney World with a larger group can be so much fun. I like to stay in a villa or suite rather than two hotel rooms. I like that with villas and suites, there are dedicated living spaces, as well as kitchens or kitchenettes.

With a family of six, you could stay in the family suites at Disney's Art of Animation Resort or Disney's All-Star Music Resort. These have two bathrooms, a living area, a kitchenette, and a dedicated bedroom. Another option is The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. These stand-alone cabins offer a full kitchen, a living area, one bathroom, and a dedicated bedroom.

Another option for you would be to explore the Disney Vacation Club resorts at Walt Disney World. These offer villa accommodations, which are spacious. Your family would fit in a two-bedroom villa. These include a full kitchen, two dedicated bedrooms, a living area, at least two bathrooms, and a washer and dryer in the unit. Although many of these are booked by Disney Vacation Club members, there are also some available to the general public. These can be found at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village and Jambo House, Disney's Beach Club Villas, Disney's Boardwalk Villas, Disney's Old Key West Resort, Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, and The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

To see floor plans of many of these accommodations, I suggest that you visit the unofficial site yourfirstvisit.net. Once there, search for "floor plans," and one of the first links will take you to a post with links to floor plans of many Walt Disney World Resort hotels. This is an unofficial website; however, it should give you an idea of the way the space is laid out.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Melinda! Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
