My family has 11 which includes 4 children going to Disney World the week of Halloween. Some of the adults think 10/31/13 will be 2 crowded for MNSSHP.Will there be any events that day at Downtown Disney or the Boardwalk to celebrate Halloween?I LOVE DISNEY

    Hi Rebecca,

You are going to have such a fun time enjoying Walt Disney World in October. That is one of my favorite times of the year to visit. The weather is beautiful and the crowds are quite tolerable. Halloween night in the Magic Kingdom during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is the one exception to this. The Party sells out (quickly) and you'll find the park to be quite crowded. That being said, I know so many people who travel down every year just to spend Halloween in the Magic Kingdom. The Party is a lot of fun and it's especially cool on Halloween. There's something magical about being able to tell your friends that you trick or treated in the Magic Kingdom on Halloween night!

Perhaps the adults that don't mind the crowds could take the kids to the Party and the other adults could head to Downtown Disney to stroll and do some shopping. You'll find seasonal decorations which make Downtown Disney festive, but you won't find Trick or Treating. As of 2011, Disney discontinued the Trick or Treating event there.

Hope this helps and that you have a spooktacular time at Disney on your Halloween vacation,
