My family and I are headed to Disney Oct 27-Nov 2. Is this considered the busy season? We have been to Disney in Oct. before and thought it was really slow but I mentioned the dates to a friend and she said we made a mistake picking those dates.

Hi Melissa! You've got a friend in me here at the Moms Panel, and I'm here to tell you that you definitely did not make a mistake in picking those dates! October and November (with the exception of Thanksgiving week) are traditionally periods of lower attendance levels in the Disney parks, so they're a great time to visit! You'll encounter lots of people in the parks during the summer, Christmas week, and Easter week, but the fall generally sees fewer visitors. I like to consult the Crowd Calendar on the unofficial website TouringPlans.com when planning my Walt Disney World vacations. That site uses historical data, holidays, special events and other factors to predict attendance levels in the Disney parks. During the time you're planning to visit, the crowd levels are predicted to be very low to moderate. In fact, that site's calendar is predicting crowd levels of only 1 (out of a maximum of 10) on October 29 and a 2 on October 31. You should be able to experience lots of attractions with little waiting.

Another great reason to visit in October is that you'll be able to attend the Epcot Food and Wine Festival and Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, two of my favorite events!

Wishing you a magical vacation! Come visit us again here at the Moms Panel if you have more questions! We're happy to help!
