My family and I are headed to Disney with our 6 month old and were interested in learning about rides she might enjoy, what type of stroller is recommend and any packing ideas you may have!

Hi JoAnne! You must all be pretty excited about your visit to Walt Disney World soon!  This will be such a special time to include your 6 month old in all the fun. My daughter's first visit was at 11 months and my grandson's first visit was at 3 months!

You will be able to enjoy many attractions in each park by holding your child on your lap. You would want to be very careful about rides that might have loud noises or are primarily in the dark. Things like this could frighten a young child.  You can read descriptions about all of the attractions at the Disney website, www.disneyworld.com.  If you have any doubts or questions just take the time to stop by Guest Relations at the park and discuss what attractions might be too intense for a young child.

Obviously you will want something safe and comfortable for your child. You have many choices but the important thing to remember is that you need to fold all strollers when taking buses and other Disney transportation. Bringing the semi wide double stroller isn't going to be the best idea! I always opted for something light weight and portable and found a nice umbrella stroller to be great. If your child is still in a stroller with the portable car seat option that is also good as you can keep the child in it during meals when strollers aren't allowed in the restaurants. You can rent from outside companies too such as orlandostrollerrentals.com. They pick up and deliver to your resort.

Try not to pack the entire nursery. And remember you can ship things such as diapers and formula and bottles directly to your resort ahead of time. Always keep a light wrap on you as when the sun goes down you will often want that. Sunscreen, hats, wipes, and a change of clothes during the park days is important. Each park has a baby center if you need to purchase something you forgot!
