My family and I (Grandparents, parents, and older and younger children (13 & 14)) are planning to arrive at WDW 4 Jan 2012 in the afternoon. What do you recommend we do until our first official park day on the 5th?

Hi Joyce - there are lots of options for how you can spend your first official day at Walt Disney World.  You can spend some time exploring your resort.  Depending on where you are staying, there are likely to be lots of fun things to check out.

I'd also recommend that you visit Downtown Disney.  If you have park tickets for every day of your trip, you probably won't have another opportunity to get over there another time.  There are so many things to do - from the movie theater to DisneyQuest, to loads of restaurants and shopping.

If you are near the Boardwalk area, you may also want to check that out.  At the Boardwalk, you'll find entertainment, activities, and some great restaurants.
