So my family and I will be going to H20 glow nights in typhoon lagoon. We won’t be staying at a Disney hotel, but we have magic bands that we purchased last year. Can we use these magic bands to get in and for rides inside? Can we use them for purchases?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Janessis!

After spending today at Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, my family and I are headed to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park for the day tomorrow. We absolutely love both of the Walt Disney World Resort Water Parks, and I’m looking forward to checking out the Disney H2O Glow Nights at Typhoon Lagoon, too.

As long as you link your Disney H2O Glow Nights ticket to the MagicBand you have stored in your My Disney Experience account, you will be able to use the MagicBand to enter the Water Park. You won’t need it for the rest of the evening, though, as you’ll receive a special event wristband when you enter the Park that will designate you as an H2O partygoer, and there are no FastPass+ tapstiles in either of the Walt Disney World Resort water parks. Since using MagicBands for purchases is limited to Guests at official Walt Disney World Resort hotels, you’ll need an alternate form of payment for food, beverage and souvenir purchases. If there are Disney PhotoPass photographers on hand, you could use your MagicBand to connect your event photos to your My Disney Experience account, but the PhotoPass photographers I’ve interacted with in the Water Parks have small PhotoPass cards attached to rubber bands that slide around your wrist (so no worries about keeping up with or losing them).

I hope you and your family have an awesome time at this year’s Disney H2O Glow Nights, Janessis! Please let us know if you have any further questions. We’re happy to help.
