My family and I are getting ready to start planning our trip for some time next year. It is me, my husband, and our two boys, ages 5 and 8. My husband would really like a King size bed. What is the best (and most economical) way to accomplish this?

    Hi, Anika!

There are several ways for your family to enjoy a spectacular room at Walt Disney World, including that King-size bed from your hubby's wish-list. (Heck, it IS the most magical place on Earth, after all...)

First, take a look at a Junior Suite-King at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. Not only will you love the resort, a favorite among many Guests, but you'll love the Junior Suite-King, too, the nightly rates for which start at $365. This Suite includes a queen-size sleeper sofa, too, as well as 2 bathrooms (do I hear angels singing?) and a mini-fridge.

Another option will give you the opportunity to save more elsewhere, so it's something to consider, too. A One-Bedroom Villa at Disney's Old Key West Resort currently starts at $435 per night, includes a Master bedroom (with king-size bed), whirlpool tub as well as a separate living area with queen-size sleeper sofa AND a sleeper chair. Here's where the potential to save more comes in: Disney Vacation Club One-Bedroom Villas (which this is) come with fully equipped kitchens and washer / dryer. We eat breakfast in the villa every day, and, if we're not on a Dining Plan, prepare some lunches and dinners in our room as well.

Because of the w/d, we never check a suitcase, saving $25 each way per suitcase. Instead, we pack a few outfits for day and a few for night, plus laundry pods and dryer sheets, washing two small loads per night. Plus, we then get to go home with CLEAN clothes.

While pricing your options, Anika, be sure to consider the Value Season, as it will enable you to stay longer or enjoy a larger room for the same dollars you'd have spent during a more popular (and crowded) season.

Send more questions as you think of them, Anika; I'd love to help you find the perfect resort to call home!
