Hi! My family of four is visiting in March. In the past , we’ve used FP+ and rider switch together with only the first”group” needing FP+. Since the rollout of the digital system I’m hearing this is no longer true (both parents need FP+). Can you confirm ?

It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Rebecca! Your trip is coming up so soon and it's a great idea to do a little bit of planning to make the most of your precious time with your family while you're at Walt Disney World Resort.

The Rider Switch Service is a fantastic time-saving option for families who have Mouseketeers who aren't quite tall enough to ride certain attractions. For your family of four, one adult will ride while the other adult stays with the kids, and then the second adult can enter the attraction through the FastPass+ line and not have to wait in the standby queue. Rider Switch has recently gone digital which has meant a few changes, but I'm pleased to tell you that you can still combine FastPass+ and Rider Switch. For example, if you wanted to ride Avatar Flight of Passage at Disney's Animal Kingdom, you'd approach the queue and let a Cast Member know that you'd like to use Rider Switch. The first group will enter either the standby line or enter through the FastPass+ entrance if they have a FastPass+ booked, and the waiting group will be issued Rider Switch entitlements to their MagicBands. After the first group has finished, the waiting group can enter the same attraction through the FastPass+ entrance. Since the Rider Switch entitlement is good for up to three guests, if one of your kiddos is tall enough to ride they can enjoy the attraction twice if they'd like to!

    Happy planning, Rebecca!
