Family of four (girl 8, boy 7) planning the first Disney experience. Camping in Fort Wilderness, arriving Wed, departing Sunday. That's three full days. What parks should we go to? Thinking Magic Kingdom 2 days, Animal Kingdom 1 day... What should we do?

    Hi Tori,

Congratulations on planning your very first Walt Disney World vacation. This process will sure be a fun one, but I completely understand that deciding where to go can be a bit overwhelming. All four of the theme parks have countless attractions and shows that can appeal to all ages. So, finding the perfect itinerary for your family is important. I would absolutely do at least one day at Magic Kingdom and one day at Animal Kingdom. However, for that third day, you might consider Disney's Hollywood Studios, or at least look into the park hopper option for your tickets. Park hopping is an added expense, but it might be worth your while to get in more than one park on any given day of your vacation.

Be sure to check out Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom and Wilderness Explorers as fun interactive ways to see different parts of Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom at no extra charge (included in the price of admission). These happen to be my 10 year old son and 6 year old daughter's favorite activities from our recent vacation this summer.

Don't forget about the numerous recreation options at Fort Wilderness, such as horseback riding, archery, and fishing. Last, but not least, I would highly recommend going to the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, the classic dinner show at Fort Wilderness at Pioneer Hall. The knee-slappin', hoot-hollerin' entertainment accompanies a fantastic meal. If you can work this into your meals, you won't be disappointed.

    Have a magical vacation!
