    Lacie from LA Asked

Hi, my family of five will be visiting on April 21, 2012 for 7 nights. My boys are ages 6,5 and 4. Does anyone have a potential itererary we could go by?

Hi Lacie! You and your boys are going to have such fun! Since Easter is on April 8 next year, the attendance levels in the parks should be fairly low during your visit, which means you'll be able to experience lots of attractions with little waiting! When I plan my Disney trip itineraries, I like to first consult the calendars for each of the parks to determine the park hours, the timing of the parades and fireworks, and the Extra Magic Hours. (The calendars for April haven't been posted online yet, but they should be in the next few weeks. You can find them by clicking here, and choosing a park, and then clicking "Calendar" on the left side of the screen.)

If you have the Park Hopper option on your tickets, you might want to plan to visit the parks during Extra Magic Hours and then hop to another park for the rest of the day. If you don't have the Park Hopper, then you might want to visit parks that aren't hosting the Extra Magic Hours that day since they often become the most crowded. The unofficial website www.TouringPlans.com has a handy Crowd Calendar that suggests parks to visit for every day of the year based on predicted attendance levels. According to that website, the best parks to visit for each day of your vacation are as follows:
    • 4/21 Magic Kingdom
    • 4/22 Epcot or Hollywood Studios
    • 4/23 Epcot
    • 4/24 Hollywood Studios
    • 4/25 Hollywood Studios
    • 4/26 Epcot or Animal Kingdom
    • 4/27 Animal Kingdom
    • 4/28 Magic Kingdom
Use those suggestions as a starting point for your planning and then adjust them to make sure you see any shows or parades on your must-do list or to take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours. Then make your dining reservations at restaurants that are in or near the parks you plan to visit each day so that you're not spending a lot of time traveling to restaurants. Have a magical vacation!
