My family of 6 will be going on our first WDW vacation Feb 2017. We want a relaxed vacation with a couple planned activities so we can enjoy our experience. We will be there the day after my birthday, my daughters 10th birthday and my 15 WeddingAnniversary

    Hi Shawna,

We usually tend to take a relatively relaxed approach to our visits to Walt Disney World Resort, by following a simple framework and dividing our day into three parts. First, we call the morning our “kid time”. We arrive at the Theme Park that we’ll be visiting that morning immediately when the Park opens, and schedule our FastPass+ selections from about 11:00 am onwards.

Once those are done, we make a 4th selection before heading back to our Walt Disney World Resort for the afternoon (usually when the heat is at its peak). Then, the little one (and usually my husband) takes a nap and I go lounge by the pool or on our hotel room’s balcony with a good book and my favourite drink.

In the evening, we head back to the Parks for our dining reservation (usually some time around 6:00-6:30 pm) and watch the fireworks or nighttime show until the Theme Park closes for the evening. You can book a special dining experience in the Theme Parks for your daughter’s birthday (like dinner at Cinderella’s Royal Table at Magic Kingdom Park) or for your wedding anniversary (I recommend Tiffins at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park).

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions. And don’t forget that, even though a visit to Walt Disney World Resort takes a bit of planning, it’s still supposed to be a vacation!

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
