    Cortney from MI Asked

Hello! My family and I are going on our first Disney trip in two weeks (eek!) and I was wondering if you had any tips or tricks on extra things I need to bring? I'm not sure what the park allows in, will be able to bring drinks and snacks in? Thank You!

Hello Cortney. How exciting! Your first Walt Disney World vacation is just right around the corner. Indeed you can bring in snacks and drinks. I suggest you take a look at the park rules page to get an idea of what you can and cannot bring into the parks. Here are my suggestions on what to bring:

*An external cell phone charger or battery. I have a portable cell phone charger that I use at the parks because I always take lots of pictures on my phone and check the My Disney Experience App for attraction wait times. My phone usually dies midday, but will last throughout the night when I've got my charger.

*I bring my Contigo water container to save money. Instead of buying water bottles at the parks, I will fill up my container at drinking fountains and Quick-Service locations. It is very important to stay hydrated in the Florida sun.

*Always buy ponchos before your visit. Florida is notorious for torrential afternoon rain showers, so its always nice to have a poncho at the ready in a moments notice. During our stay in August it rained for a short time every single day, and we were always prepared with ponchos.

*I always bring a ziplock back with tylenol, hand sanitizer, band-aids, hair ties, and other emergency items. You never know when you might need them, and prices for the essentials are inflated in the parks, so pack them just in case.

*If you have little ones, make sure you pack a towel and swim clothes. There are many spots in the parks where they can cool off and splash around while you rest your feet.

I hope this helps, and if you need anything else please feel free to stop by! Have a magical first Walt Disney World vacation!
