This is my family first big trip on a cruise and we really don't know where to go and do we need a passport to go to any of the destinations.

    Hi Shannon,

I think you're going to love that you decided on a Disney Cruise for your family's first cruise.  In my opinion, no other cruise line can compare.  I'm being honest.  I've sailed on six of them already and I have another planned for this November and then May, 2013!  Yes, my family and I are Disney Cruise Line addicts and proud of it!

Because it is your first cruise, I would start with a sailing that includes the Bahamas.  There are a lot of port adventures offered for families, and you would also be able to visit Castaway Cay, Disney's private island.  Castaway Cay is our hands down, favorite port.  I've said many times that if DCL parked one of their ships there for 7 days, I'd be the first one booking that trip.  It's just amazing!

As for passports, yes, you will need those or another proof of US Citizenship such as original birth certificates with the raised seal.  Here is all of the information that you'll need provided by the cruise line.

Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.  I'm very excited for you.  Bon voyage Shannon!
