My family and I will be driving overnight and arriving at Walt Disney World early in the morning. We are not able to check into our hotel, Shades of Green, until 3 pm. Can you suggest somewhere my family and I can freshen up before heading into the park?

    Michelle:

I'm not aware of any public facilities beside the bathrooms at the Ticket and Transportation Center that would be adequate for freshening up after such a long road trip. . .

Although the official check-in time for Shades of Green is at 3 p.m., they recognize that some guests--especially military that may be traveling in from overseas--need to check-in before that time and their reservations desk is open in the morning to receive guests. I would recommend that you check-in early. On the likelihood that your rooms isn't ready, they have a bell stand where you can store your luggage. I don't recall there being shower facilities in the fitness room but I've found Shades of Green to be very accommodating and there are restrooms near the lobby area which I'm sure you can use.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
