Our family has never been to Disney. Yup! Where would you recommend taking two boys age 17 and 14 who have never been to Disney and think they are too old for Disney. Another hurtle is and strategy to avoid crowds and lines Your advice would be appreciate

    Greetings, Darlene!

Some of my best memories as a teen were from exploring the parks with my friends late at night… the combination of freedom and Disney magic were priceless! Now, to help convince your two boys, I filtered my Attractions search with “teens” and “thrill rides”, and here are my results. Guardians of the Galaxy -- Mission BREAKOUT!, Incredicoaster, and Radiator Springs Racers are great for teens, along with classics like Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain. They can even test their shooting skills at the Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition. There’s truly something for everyone… including an awesome virtual-reality experience in Downtown Disney District, called The VOID!

As for ideal timing for visiting, we're anticipating excited crowds for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge this summer. So, if you can wait, I’d suggest shooting for mid-September through mid-November, followed by mid-January through mid-March. I recommend purchasing Park Hopper tickets, since Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park are a short walking distance from each other. In order to make the best use of your time, I suggest adding Disney MaxPass to your tickets, too.

Lastly, be sure to download the Disneyland app, which is a helpful tool for checking wait times, finding Characters, making dining reservations, and mobile ordering.

    See ya' real soon!

Meet the Panelist: Kristin, California

Hello from sunny California! I currently live less than an hour from the Disneyland Resort, and have been an Annual Passholder for about 20 years! As a mom of three kids under the age of 7, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to “The Happiest Place on Earth!”
