    Doreen Asked

My family is going to Disney World during Star Wars weekend during June. We are starting to chose our fastpass+ choices and we were wondering if meeting the Star Wars characters is or will be a choice. Thank you. And may the force be with you.

    Hi Doreen ~

I feel the force is strong with you. I'm so incredibly excited about the 2014 Star Wars Weekends (SWW) and can't wait to see Mark Hamill during SWW IV!

In past years, FASTPASS was used for Celebrity Autograph Sessions. Guests were able to get in the line of the celebrity they wanted to meet and given a wristband. The wristband along with their theme park ticket entitled the Guest to receive one autograph FASTPASS ticket. Only one autograph FASTPASS ticket was distributed per Guest. Each Guest had to be present to receive a FASTPASS ticket and Guests were not allowed to get FASTPASS tickets for other members of their party. The FASTPASS ticket had a designated autograph return time and Guests had to be wearing wristbands to get an autograph.

For the other Star Wars characters, there was no FASTPASS options. Everyone waited in line at the character meet and greet locations.

Having said this, as shown in Gary's post on the Disney Parks Blog on March 20, 2014, there have already been a few changes and new things announced for the 2014 SWW (see Gary's responses to Guests' comments). The policy and procedures for obtaining Celebrity Autographs could change this year. I would recommend keeping your eyes on the Disney Parks Blog and stay tuned for further announcements. Also keep your eyes on the website for the event which is DisneyTheForce.com. If you are on twitter be sure to follow #DisneyTheForce. Hopefully, they will announce more about 2014 SWW super soon!

Please feel free to visit us with all of your planning questions. We are hEAR to help!

May the force be with you :-) Allison V.
