Hi! My family will be at Disney World in 15 days(yay!!) and my husband just injured his knee and is on crutches. I'm really concerned about how much he is going to be able to get around the parks and enjoy the rides. Any tips and advice to make it easier?

    Hi Ashley!

I am sorry to hear about your husband's injuries but no worries - Disney World is a great place to visit for Guests with Limited Mobility. The parks are really big and it may make it easier if you rent a wheelchair for him. They are available to rent at all 4 of the theme parks. Wheelchairs are available on a first come, first serve basis and reservations are not accepted. Wheelchairs must remain in the parks in which they were rented. If you visit other parks on the same day, you'd just have to show your receipt at the next park to obtain another wheelchair.

You can purchase a Length of Stay Rental at the Wheelchair Rental Location which will save you some money by pre-paying for the number of days that you will require a wheelchair. The Length of Stay rental ticket is $10 per day when rented for multiple days (prices are always subject to change without notice). Once you've paid for the Length of Stay Rental, you'd simply show your receipt at the rental location to receive your wheelchair for the day. The Length of Stay Rental may not be available during peak seasons. It also doesn't reserve a wheelchair for you - they are always first come, first served.

With the new Disability Access Service (DAS) Card system, Guests in wheelchairs who are able to wait in a standard queue will not need a DAS. If there are queues that require Guests in wheelchairs or ECVs to enter through alternate queues, you can see a Cast Member (CM) at that attraction for assistance. They will give you a return time to come back to the attraction based on the current wait time and you will enter through an alternate entrance.

I'm limited in space but please feel free to visit again.

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
