My family is going to Disney for our 2nd trip in early May. What are a few ADR's you would highly recommend for a family with 2 girls ages 8 and 13 and 2 boys ages 9 and 16. Is there anything they will all enjoy together? Thank you!

    Karen:

As much as Disney is all about Character meals, I can tell you that, based on my experience with teenage boys, that pictures with Winnie the Pooh don't go over too well during those adolescent years...

With that in mind, I asked my four children, ages 9 - 18, what they would suggest for your crew:

    1. Ohana: This was the first choice of my 16-year-old son. He's a carnivore and the all-you-can-eat steak, pork, chicken, and shrimp puts it at the top of the list, but he added that having a later dinner reservation so we could see the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the restaurant makes it "awesome."
    2. Biergarten: The chicken dance was a favorite of our little guy while the all-you-can-eat buffet that's heavy on meat and potato fare made it another solid choice for our vocal 16-year-old.
    3. California Grill: The view alone makes it one of our family's top dining choices of all time. The menu allows for all palates, including the children's menu.
    4. Beaches 'n' Cream: Although families like yours and mine can't make reservations (only tables for four and under can), this place is worthy of the standby wait. Desserts reign supreme here, including the memory-making Kitchen Sink for all to dig in. Consider taking in the Boardwalk while you wait on your table.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
