Our family is going on a Disney Cruise Feb. 1, 2019. We are considering staying at the WDW Resorts for a few days before the cruise. Would 3 days with regular tickets be better than 2 days with Park Hopper at the end of January? Thank You! Laurie

    Hi Laurie,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am delighted to hear that you are planning a land and sea vacation!

Although my family has used Park Hopper tickets in the past, we prefer to spend our time in one park per day. My advice would be to purchase three-day base tickets so that, with Fast Pass+, you can reserve three ride time windows for each park. When we use Park Hopper tickets, we have to make our initial three Fast Pass+ selections at one park, so we make those at the first park we plan to visit. Then, once we complete those initial Fast Pass+ selections, we can make an additional Fast Pass+ selection at the second park we plan to visit.

While the transportation between parks is certainly manageable, we do not like to lose transit time trying to get to another park in the same day, so we prefer to take our time for a full day in each park. If you choose to go this route, be sure to review the Attractions at each park and decide which ones you would like to prioritize for Fast Pass+ selection.

Laurie, if you do decide to use Park Hopper tickets, I suggest that you arrive at the first park as early as possible. Make your Fast Pass+ selections back-to-back beginning at park opening. If the park opens at 9:00 a.m., I would do Fast Pass+ selections for 9:00 a.m. - 10: 00 a.m., 10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. Grab a bite to eat for lunch, check wait times for a few more rides using the My Disney Experience Mobile App and ride what you can. Head to the second park by 2:00 p.m. (depending on that park's closing time) and continue the fun!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
