Hi! My family and I currently have magic bands that are "Active". We are planning our second trip to Disney, but this time my mom will be joining us. My question is do I only order her band? From what I've researched we can reuse ours.

Hi Angel! Every time you make a reservation for a Disney resort you will have the opportunity to select a new Magic Band for each guest on the reservation. Since these bands come in quite a few colors many guests enjoy collecting them so they have one of each. You are more then welcome to select a new color even though your other one is still active.

It is best not to keep more then ten bands per person active at one time as the system can start to glitch. Many families enjoy having each member of the family have a different color. Your mother will certainly enjoy being a part of this new tradition and will have fun selecting her special color.

If you do not customize your band and do not mark the box saying you are refusing a band then you will be given gray bands at check-in. When you do your check-in process be sure and have them double check the old bands to make sure they are indeed active and working for the new reservation. Then from there you can choose a new band each day to wear and both will provide you access to your room and entry into parks. It is fun and since I have been there many times I decide which color to wear according to what I am wearing that day. After all fashion is important!

If you want to add some new fun to all of this check out the customized bands at the Disney Store. There are many locations in the parks where you can select something new as well.

Enjoy starting a new collection of Magic Bands for your vacations. Most bands will continue to work for about two years.
