Hello. My family consists of 2 adults, 2 children and a toddler. We want to go to Biergarten but only the 2 adults and 1 child will eat, and we don’t want to take the other 2 in. Can we pay for 3 and swap adults during the meal so 1 adult can wait w/ them?

Hi Danielle and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Biergarten Restaurant at Epcot’s World Showcase is one of my family’s favorite places to eat at the Walt Disney World Resort!

I’ve been in the same position as you! I’ve had to swap places with my husband at restaurants many times over the years when our girls were toddlers. What we really like about Biergarten Restaurant is live their show. While my five and two-year-old girls (at the time) showed zero interest in the delicious German food, they absolutely loved the live music! The performers were lively and invited all the children in the restaurant to come down and dance and play games.

I’ve also done what you’re asking and while it is allowed and the food was delicious, I did feel rushed. Also, chasing my very energetic toddler around on a full stomach was not exactly my favorite part of the vacation.

Another thing you can do is pay for the adults and children who will be eating, and let your server know that the younger children would not be eating. They are more than welcome to enjoy the show at no extra charge! You would then only be charged for those who were eating and not charged for the number of people at the table. Mouseketeers under the age of three are Mickey’s special guests and are welcome to test out the delicious German fare.

A good thing to remember is that you can start making your dining reservations 180 days before your visit. I usually plan out my meals, then make my FastPass+ selections accordingly. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and a big meal may not be a good pair!

Danielle, feel free to come back to see us with any other questions you might have. Helping you with the details of your next magical visit is our pleasure!
