My family and I are considering a cruise for Sept of this year. Is it possible on Castaway Cay to just relax on beach without incurring additional costs or is there some must do shore excursions

    Hi Jeremy -

Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel with your question. It's great to hear that you and your family are considering a Disney Cruise in September. There's definitely a lot of family fun and entertainment already included in the base price of your cruise. There's no reason you need to blow your budget out of the ballpark.

Castaway Cay, Disney's private island, is surely a favorite spot for Disney Cruise guests who sets sail with Captain Mickey. This one-of-a-kind island stop comes included in your cruise already! Once the ship docks on Castaway Cay, you've got the whole day to either explore or just hang out at the beach. You only incur additional costs if you choose to participate in any of the port adventures, rent equipment on the island or purchase alcoholic drinks and souvenirs. If you choose to stay at the family beach or the adult beach (Serenity Bay), you can soak up the sun and swim all day for no additional cost. Even the all-you-care-to-eat lunch at Cookies BBQ and Cookies Too are at no additional cost.

My family really enjoyed snorkeling and biking while on the island a few months ago. I think biking is the best way to explore the rest of the island. When it came to snorkeling at snorkel lagoon, it was really fascinating to see the submerged treasures all over. There is a Getaway Package that you can check out if it is something that you'd be interested in.

I hope this info helps. Let us know if we can help with any other planning inquiries.
