My family is coming to Disney in August to celebrate the homecoming of my husband from Afghanistan. What time of the summer does the crowds die down? I know the lines can be crazy during the summer!

    Hello Amanda,

First, thank you and your husband for your service to our country!

Second, you must be counting down the seconds until he arrives back home!

I can only imagine the excitement building for your trip to Disney with your husband. From my experience, the last week of August is a great time to visit, as long as you don't mind the heat! High temps just mean frequent dips in the pool, staying hydrated, and treating ourselves to Mickey ice cream bars! During the last week of August, most schools are already in session so summer crowd levels begin dwindle.

Hope this helps. I am sure no matter what time of year you choose, it will be a magical vacation for all of you!

My family loves our Main Street in Ohio. But there's simply no comparison to Main Street U.S.A.! We don't get to Disney quite as often as I'd like, but that just means finding new ways to sprinkle Pixie Dust on our adventures! Learn More About Monina
