Hi We are a family of 4 (children 11 and 9) travelling from Australia to Disneyworld in September 2018. I have been researching accommodation/package options. Not sure whether to stay on site or not. Looking at Disney Beach Club for 4/5 nights?Thoughts

    Hi Jocelyn!

I am always in awe of guests who travel from such a distance as Australia. I have been to your beautiful country and remember that long, long flight to get there. I hope you find your Walt Disney World vacation as wonderful as I found our vacation to your country to be.

I strongly recommend you stay on property when you are visiting Disney in Florida. The Resorts offer you so much and it makes it worth a bit more money to get those amenities. The Beach Club is an excellent choice for your family looking at the ages of your children. The location is so convenient to two parks, Epcot and Hollywood Studios. You can either walk or use the water taxis to get to both.

Disney resort guests can use the complimentary Disney transportation, and have the ability to reserve your FastPasses up to 60 days ahead and before other guests.

Another great perk for resort guests is that you can enjoy the Extra Magic Hours in the parks. Almost each day one of the parks will offer either an extra hour in the morning or an hour or two in the evening when only resort guests can enter and enjoy the parks. This allows you to get to those popular attractions without lines and save one of your FastPasses for something else. Of course it does mean getting everyone up early to hit the parks but then many come back mid day for naps and pool time.

Speaking of pool time you would definitely all enjoy the beautiful Stormalong Bay pool facility that is spread between the Yacht Club and the Beach Club resorts. It is widely known as the best pool on property with its sandy bottom area, lazy river, and big slide.

Although you can save some money by staying off property you also will miss some of the magic that happens in the parks and in the resorts day and night. My vote is definitely try for the Beach Club and have a great vacation!
