Father and Child on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

My family of 7 is arriving at Disney World for the very first time on Father's Day. I think our trip is well planned, but I am in need of a way to make it special for my husband for Father's Day. He is reluctant about this trip. Any ideas?

Hi, Ashanti! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

My family and I spent Father's Day at Walt Disney World Resort for the first time last year, and we had such a wonderful time that we're planning to do the same this year. I asked my husband what made the trip special for him, and of course he very sweetly said "just spending time with my family."

When I asked for specifics though, one of his suggestions included sleeping in on that Sunday. Unless your husband is naturally an early-riser, consider making your FastPass+ selections for later in the morning or early afternoon and let Dad sleep a little later.

Another suggestion he made was planning an activity like a round of golf or time at the Driving Range at Disney's Oak Trail, Palm or Magnolia Golf Courses. You can also schedule a 45-minute personalized, private lesson for your husband (taught by a PGA tour instructor) by calling (407) WDW-GOLF.

If he isn't a golfer, consider renting a watercraft for the afternoon and taking a cruise on the Seven Seas Lagoon. You can rent anything from a Searaycer to a pontoon boat and can even schedule a guided bass fishing excursion by calling (407) WDW-PLAY.

My husband also recommended enjoying a nice, relaxing dinner with the family. We love the Ale & Compass at Disney's Yacht Club Resort (and he gets a kick out of telling his friends he dined at the Yacht Club for Father's Day).

I hope these suggestions will help you plan something extra magical for your husband this Father's Day, Ashanti. Please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help.
