    Shandy from SC Asked

My family of 6 will be arriving at Disney Fort Wilderness Campground the end of May. We have booked a premium site. We are wondering what the best campsite loop would be for 4 adults and a 10 yr old girl and 8 year old boy.

Hi Shandy! I hope you will enjoy your stay in Fort Wilderness as much as we do when we bring our motor coach. It is a great big playground of fun things to see and do.

Choosing a loop is hard as it depends on personal choices. If you would like to be close to the marina and Pioneer Hall where Trails End is located then I suggest loop 700. It is just a short walk across the street to reach those locations. You will catch the boat to the Magic Kingdom from the marina and can relax on the beach at night to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks show. There is also a small Trading Post, large playground, stables, and arcade in this area. The loop itself is not long so getting in and out is easier then some of the other ones. Each site has shade and a good many sites back up to the old railroad bed.

Another favorite is loop 900. This is also a shorter loop with lots of shade and privacy for each site. It is close to a comfort station and right across the street from the main Trading Post. This loop will also be closer to the pool area and Chip and Dale's Campfire Singalong location. One of the internal bus stops is also located at the entrance to this loop.

Every single loop has something special about it. Some are more wide open with less trees and others offer better shade and privacy. You might choose to give up close location to amenities to have a bigger space between sites. It is simply personal preference. When you check in let them know if you need an easy back in site as all RV's must back in. The bigger your coach the harder it is to get into some of the sites and this is why it is important to let them know what you need.

Check out this site, Fort Wilderness Campground, to see all the amenities and perks this resort offers to the guests. Enjoy your camping experience!
