Family of 4 adults/2 kids visiting first of May. We are planning 3 days out of 6 to spend in MK. Should we split that up and do Adventureland and Frontierland in 1 day, then splitting the rest of the park over the other 2 days? I don't want to feel rushed!

    Hi Beth,

Thanks so much for stopping by the Moms Panel. Magic Kingdom can be one of the most beautiful and exciting parks in all of Walt Disney World Resort. Since you have planned to dedicate 3 days to exploring, why not take the rush out of it, and let the kids lead the way? Walt Disney World is one of the only vacation destinations where you can hand the reins over to the kids and have them decide what to explore. You won't feel like you missed out on anything, and better yet, the kids won't feel overwhelmed. This is what I would do:
    • Day 1- The night before, show the kids a map of the park. Give them a choice of 3 lands within Magic Kingdom to explore on day one, and have them decide which land they would like to visit first thing. If you plan on doing FastPass+ selections, have them do this even earlier so you can select attractions in the land they chose.
    • Day 2 - Before you hit the park, show the map to the kids and point out what lands and attractions they didn't explore on day 1. Let them decide where they would like to start out the day. This may be the day where you take in the stage shows at Cinderella Castle, and meet some of your favorite characters.
    • Day 3 - Use this day to re-visit the attractions, shows and parades that the kids (and adults) really loved. And don't forget to end the day with Wishes nighttime spectacular!

Remember: if you do decide to make FastPass+ selections ahead of time, you can cancel or switch your selections whenever you feel the need, even if it's when you are right in the park. Yet another thing not to stress about.

I hope this answered your question, Beth. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask us at any time.

    Have a fantastical Disney day!
