Hi My family of 7 (4 adults, 3 children) are going to WDW in late Nov-Dec 09 We are not getting the dining plan, and I was wondering what are some great budget-friendly restaurants at WDW that would fill all our appetites without breaking the bank!

    Lauren:

Where do I begin?  You've got so many choices!

    • BUFFET: As a fan of Fort Wilderness, I have to say the best buffet-on-a-budget is Trail's End Buffeteria!  Peel-and-eat shrimp, ribs, and fried chicken lead the buffet line.  More rustic than most restaurants, it's no-fuss fixins.  But make a budget evening of it: start with the boat ride from Magic Kingdom, dinner then the FREE campfire sing-a-long with Chip and Dale at the campground followed by the water pageant and fireworks on the beach!
    • COUNTER-SERVICE: Cosmic Ray's at Magic Kingdom offers rotisserie chicken combos that can feed two in our family.  Flame-Tree BBQ at Animal Kingdom serves up dry ribs so tender I can taste them as I type!  Lots of food for the moderate price. Sunshine Seasons at Epcot provides the largest variety---and their blue-plate special line is my sons' favorite (I prefer the Asian Chicken Salad--couldn't finish it!)
    • TABLE SERVICE:  Le Cellier at Epcot--there's a reason it's so popular!  Best steak for the price.  The menu will please every meat and potato man, and for a Disney table service restaurant, so will the bill!  Rainforest Cafe: The entertainment that makes this a bargain when compared to the Dinner Shows.  They offer reservations now, too!
    Wishing you a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
