We have a family of 5. 2 adults 3 children. When booking hotels online, my choices seem to be limited to Family Suites. We really dont need a suite and think a room with 2 double beds (maybe a cot?) would be be fine. How would I go about booking this?

    Hi Karen,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  I am happy to help you begin to plan your magical vacation!

Let me start by saying that the ages of the children in your traveling party are important to this question.  If any of the children are under three years old, they do not count toward the number of guests in your room.  So if you are traveling with an infant, toddler, or child who is not yet three years old, you would consider your party a party of four.  If all of the children are three years old or older, you would be a party of five.

With a family of five, you do need to look carefully at the accommodation you are booking to be sure that your family will fit.  If you are wanting to stay at a value resort, then yes, the option would be family suites which sleep up to six, as the traditional hotel rooms at the value resorts sleep up to four guests.  At the moderate level, you can stay at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, which offers rooms that can sleep up to five guests.  At the deluxe level of resorts at Walt Disney World, many of the hotels offer standard rooms which accommodate parties of five.  I would suggest that you look at the list of deluxe resorts, choose those that are interesting, and then click on "Room Rates & Types" for those resorts to see how many guests their rooms will accommodate.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you in starting to plan your trip, Karen.  Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
