We are a family of 2 adults and 4 children, aged 10, 8, 4 and 1 visiting Orlando for the first time in August, staying at the Watersong resort. Any suggestions for what to include/avoid and keep all ages happy (and cool!) are most welcome..

August is a great time to visit Walt Disney World. I would totally make a point of starting your magical vacation with a visit to the Magic Kingdom to visit the big cheese himself, Mickey Mouse. Head on over to the Town Square Theater located on Main Street U.S.A. to get a picture, autograph and big hug from the mouse that started it all. It's a great photo opportunity. While at the Magic Kingdom take the time for some great family classic attractions like the Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean and Peter Pan's Flight. These are great rides that kids of all ages will have a blast with. If the parks get too hot I would suggest that you cool off at one of the incredible Disney Water Parks. I was recently at Disney's Blizzard Beach and had the best day staying cool and enjoying all of the great water adventures they have. From the oldest to the little one, there are fun water attractions to keep you all smiling and making magical memories. I still have dreams of lounging on that lazy river on a nice warm day. These are just a few of the many great options available to you and your family when you visit the Happiest Place on Earth. Feel free to ask my any other questions and I will see you at the parks.
